Root Canal Therapy
At Samad Dental Studio, we understand that “root canal” sounds intimidating, but our modern approach makes it a comfortable and relieving experience. Our goal is to stop your toothache immediately, remove infection, and preserve your natural tooth for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Root canal therapy (Endodontics) is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or became infected. The procedure involves removing the damaged area of the tooth (the pulp), cleaning and disinfecting it, and then filling and sealing it. Contrary to popular belief, a root canal is not the cause of pain—it is the cure. At Samad Dental Studio, we use advanced technology to ensure the procedure is as routine and painless as getting a filling.
The primary benefit is the elimination of the severe pain caused by tooth infection or inflammation. Once the infected nerve is removed, the pain goes away.
Nothing looks, feels, or functions exactly like your natural tooth. Root canal therapy saves the tooth from extraction, allowing you to keep your natural smile intact.
By removing the bacteria from the root canals, we prevent the infection from spreading to the jawbone, surrounding teeth, or other parts of the body.
Once treated and restored with a crown, the tooth returns to full function, allowing you to chew food efficiently without discomfort or sensitivity.
Gentle and Effective At Samad Dental Studio, we prioritize your comfort during every step of the procedure:
Step 1
We start by administering local anesthesia to completely numb the tooth and surrounding area. You will not feel pain. We then create a small opening in the crown of the tooth to access the infected pulp.
Step 2
Using precision instruments, we carefully remove the infected pulp and nerve tissue. The inside of the root canals is cleaned, shaped, and disinfected to ensure no bacteria remain.
Step 3
The empty canals are filled with a biocompatible material called gutta-percha to seal them and prevent future infection. A temporary filling is often placed to close the opening.
Step 4
After the tooth heals (usually a week or two later), you will return to Samad Dental Studio to have a permanent crown or filling placed. This restores the tooth’s strength and protects it from fracturing.
You may be a candidate for root canal therapy if you are experiencing the following symptoms:
Persistent or throbbing pain when chewing, biting, or applying pressure to the tooth is a primary sign of infection.
If you experience sharp pain when eating hot or cold foods, and the pain lingers long after the food is removed, the nerve may be damaged.
Swelling, tenderness, or a pimple-like bump (abscess) on the gums near the affected tooth indicates an infection at the root tip.
Patients with a deep cavity that has reached the nerve, or a tooth that has been cracked or chipped due to injury, often require this treatment.
Cost and Insurance for Root Canal Therapy The cost of a root canal varies depending on the complexity of the problem and which tooth is affected (molars are more difficult to treat than front teeth). Since this is a necessary medical procedure to treat infection, most dental insurance plans cover a significant portion of the cost. Samad Dental Studio is committed to transparency; we will verify your insurance benefits and provide a clear estimate of your co-pay before we begin treatment.

No. With modern anesthesia, a root canal is no more painful than getting a regular filling. Most patients report feeling immediate relief from their toothache after the procedure.
Extracting a tooth can lead to bone loss, shifting of other teeth, and the need for expensive replacements like implants or bridges. Saving your natural tooth is always the best, most cost-effective option.
In most cases, yes. Because the blood supply is removed, the tooth can become brittle over time. A crown protects the tooth from breaking and restores its full strength.
Most root canals at Samad Dental Studio are completed in one or two visits. The first visit is to clear the infection, and the second is usually to place the permanent restoration.
